Mark Tremonti: A Dying Machine

Mark Tremonti is a busy man and he continues to find ways to breathe new life into the well-honed formula and signature sound that he's created with the chart topping bands Creed and Alter Bridge and his own burgeoning solo status. On his forthcoming fourth album A Dying Machine the talented Grammy Award winning guitarist and able frontman is writing a new chapter - literally. This latest release is a musical companion to a book that Tremonti plans to publish soon.

The story on record unfolds as an emotionally charged narrative, spanning obsession, unrequited love and destruction all taking place at the turn of the next century. The result is a cinematic and sonic 14-tracks that pulse with power and passion as Tremonti drives his trio to new heights. There is a dark theme that permeates Mark's fearful future world underscored by the title track and songs like "Bringer Of War", "Desolation", "The Day When Legions Burned" and "Throw Them To The Lions". But, you'll want to stay where you are just to hear the next stunning big chorus, spiral riff and haunting hypnotic solo that all help tell the tale.

Like many great authors of our time Tremonti keeps churning out the work. We'll have to wait and see if the book and CD package sets a trend with more to follow. We now know what his literary and musical take on dystopia looks like. Surely he's got more chapters to write with his other bands. We'll just have to wait for the sequel.
