Robin Trower, Maxi Priest and Livingstone Brown: United State of Mind

It was a chance meeting that brought three uniquely talented artists together. Robin Trower, Maxi Priest and Livingstone Brown released United State of Mind in October of 2020. Livingstone Brown is a well-respected producer/mix engineer and musician who has worked with Ed Sheeran, The Waterboys, Tina Turner and many more. Vocalist Maxi Priest is known for blending R&B with reggae and Robin Trower is one of classic rock's most influential guitar players.

Reflecting on the project Maxi Priest states that it's "three different minds coming together trying to create a unification that we can give as a gift to the world. We wanted to come together to do something positive. I'm overwhelmed and proud of this album. It's all live instrumentation - fully organic music."

The record opens strong with the funky title track followed by "Are We Just People" that builds on the great grooves of the first tune. "Hands To The Sky" packs a punch as does the delightful "Good Day". The platter also has some more pensive pieces such as "Bring It All Back To You" and "Walking Wounded". Horns and strings effectively enhance their muse as Trower punctuates points with potent guitar leads. United State of Mind is a cool collaboration that unites genres with songs that run the gamut from smoking to smooth!
