Jackson Browne: Going Home (Eagle Rock Entertainment) is a retrospective of the musician's lengthy and legendary career, which includes seven platinum records and inductions into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriter's Hall of Fame. The DVD is a re-issue from 2000 (originally aired in 1994 on the Disney Channel) and tells Jackson's story through clips, chats and concert footage from various stages in Browne's career. The documentary opens with Jackson performing "I'm Alive" with a full band than flowing into "Farther On" featuring Browne at the piano with longtime collaborator David Lindley on guitar. The two reminisce on their first meeting and where "Doctor My Eyes" was composed before an early concert clip of the song is shown. The DVD runs through full and partial version of 23 classics with commentary from Don Henley, David Crosby, Graham Nash, Bonnie Raitt and Jennifer Warnes. Discussions are in formal and casual settings all woven into songs and live performances. Jackson Browne: Going Home is a varied and vibrant overview of Jackson's roots and career.
