Aaron Lee Tasjan: Tasjan! Tasjan! Tasjan!

Aaron Lee Tasjan is a Nashville based rising star who has just raised the bar on his upcoming full length collection titled Tasjan! Tasjan! Tasjan! out February 5 on New West Records. After repeated listens it occurred to us that this record sounds a lot like the Traveling Wilburys paying homage to the White Album.

Throughout the mostly fast paced, psychedelic romp the 34-year old Ohio native also conjures up the spirit of many of the great British sensations including Lennon, Lynne and Rafferty. So, within the grooves of the release's captivating 11 songs you'll hear threads of all these acts woven together. Still, the whole cloth is Tasjan! Tasjan! Tasjan! and he's fabricated a modern powerpop masterpiece that is sure to elevate his brand.

Things really lift off with "Up All Night" that more than hints at 90's era Heartbreakers as it delivers a series of Aaron's amusing and contradicting anecdotes that seem to serve as an invigorating antidote for the singer's insomnia. "Cartoon Music" is a comedic indictment of the modern music business while "Feminine Walk" tips its hat to many of the industry's legendary gender benders who uniquely strutted and strolled into our minds and hearts in memorable fashion. This platter is memorable, too - and by calling it Tasjan! Tasjan! Tasjan! - he's sure to make a name for himself on the strength of the tracks and talent found within.
