Guitarist, singer and songwriter Joe Bonamassa was blessed by B.B. King at the age of twelve with an opportunity to open for The King. Yet like many musicians Joe had to work hard to achieve the success that he is currently enjoying. Bonamassa played at many small venues in his early days and toured relentlessly. In time, Joe's following grew. Now he finds himself performing at some of the finest theaters in the world. Joe also consistently releases quality albums and DVDs, thus always giving his fans something new to feast on regularly with Tour De Force - Live In London topping them all.

Tour De Force - Live In London is 4 bands, over 4 days with 4 set lists. It is Joe's most ambitious project to date and based on the previews Soundpress.net has seen it is awesome! Each concert has different arrangements, players and themes. At The Borderline the focus is jamming. The gig at Shepherd's Bush Empire is based around the blues with horns. The show at the Hammersmith Apollo is a mix of acoustic and rock tracks. The series concludes at the famed Royal Albert Hall where Joe performs a mix of his hits utilizing acoustic and electric guitars.

Tour De Force - Live In London which drops on October 29, 2013 will be available in four separate discs. Not only will each disc be individually released as a double DVD or Blu-ray, but there will also be a special collector's box set with all four DVDs or Blu-Rays, along with an exclusive hardcover photo book showcasing iconic images captured during that legendary week in London, all packaged together inside a box designed as a miniature vintage Marshall amp.

In advance of the release some of the songs from each of the four concerts will be showcased in a 90 minute program that will premiere on Viacom Media Networks' high-definition music channel Palladia HD on Friday, October 25, 2013. There are also plans to air that special on public television in the spring of 2014.

The diversity of material in Tour De Force - Live In London is one element of interest as is the special collection of guitars that are part of Bonamassa's arsenal. Fans will see Rory Gallagher's 1961 Fender Stratocaster, Bernie Marsden's 1959 Gibson Les Paul and the Peter Greene/Gary Moore 1959 Gibson Les Paul.

The tour begins at The Borderline, a club where Joe played as an up-and-coming artist. At this show Joe is leading a power trio. The set design is simple just a stage with a curtain. There are not a lot of props as it is all about the music. On this night Joe is wearing a pair of jeans along with his signature sunglasses. He may be dressed more casually than usual but his playing was elegant as always. Highlights at The Borderline included a funky jamming version of "I Know Where I Belong", a kick ass cover of Jeff Beck's "Spanish Boots" and the bold and bluesy tale of hard times in the "Story of a Quarryman".

The Borderline footage captured the closeness of the room and the chemistry of the trio. There was a fine blend of close-ups and pull outs with some video shots lingering allowing the viewer to absorb the intimacy of the moment and the music.

At Shepherd's Bush Empire Bonamassa was with his usual touring band backed by a horn section that gave Joe's songs a sassy flair. Standouts at this show were "You Better Watch Yourself" and "So It's Like That" where not only the guitar solos sizzled but so did the horns and keyboards. The diversity of camera angles here also enhanced the perspective of a bigger space and show.

At the Hammersmith Apollo, Joe and his talented team have an extra percussionist and singer to fill out on the classic rock sound of "Cradle Rock". "Driving Towards The Daylight" was rich and reflective as the additional musicians contributed more elements to the track. These were two of many high water marks at this concert.

At the circular and elegant structure that is Royal Albert Hall, Bonamassa and his band performed a mix of acoustic and electric numbers. During "Black Lung Heartache" Joe is joined by other players on accordion and mandolin adding to the Appalachian vibe of the tune. "Slow Train" and "Dust Bowl" are always power packed in the live setting and both seemed elevated on this occasion. Again the camera angles were longer not just quick flashes, so that folks get a good feel for the energy and execution of the music.

"London is like my second home," says Bonamassa. "With these shows, I wanted to give the fans attending the London 2013 shows a real treat - something special to thank them for their unwavering support. Over the years I've received audience requests for tracks that we've never performed live; it felt right that we delve into the back catalogue and honor London with special and unique versions of these tracks. And now, with the DVD and Blu-ray release, we can share it with my fans around the world."

All four concerts are brilliant sonically and visually. But wait there is plenty of bonus material to absorb. There are a wide range of features including behind the scene footage, interviews, insights, live clips and so much more. This collection of music and extras are extremely comprehensive and packed with polished production. Tour De Force - Live In London lives us to its name and is truly a bounty of Bonamassa!
