The Red Hot Chili Peppers Play a Dream Concert at Nissan Stadium in Nashville
If there was any doubt that the Red Hot Chili Peppers currently reign as one of America's greatest domestic bands and international musical exports of our time one needed to look no further than the exceedingly and excitedly packed Nissan Stadium when the acclaimed quartet touched down for a stop on their world conquering Global Stadium Tour on Friday, August 12, 2022 in Nashville, Tennessee.

Early in the evening, the band's charismatic bass player Flea took a moment from his fancy finger work on the four string to comment on the beautiful weather before running off a long string of items on his gratitude list including the earth worms, butterflies and the endless void in the universe - all to which he delivered a big and emphatic "thank you". And why wouldn't he be grateful? The band is currently in the midst of a 32-city global stadium tour produced by Live Nation that includes stops in Spain, London, Paris, Dublin, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York and many more before wrapping up in Arlington at Globe Life Field on September 18.

The 2022 tour also marked the return of guitarist and all-round cosmic musician John Frusciante to the group to help provide the punch on the band's first ever stadium tour in the U.S. The superb axe man with the magical and golden touch came back for his third go round in the Peppers with each foray resulting in greater acclaim and commercial success for the creative collective. In Nashville, Frusciante's fiery yet flavorful approach to the instrument proved just why his presence is invaluable to the RHCP and remains one of those intangible mysteries to their musical making process.

What is no mystery is that thirty years past their initial breakthrough the Red Hot Chili Peppers are currently experiencing their most productive and prolific period in their recording history. In April, the guys offered up the ample 17-track Unlimited Love produced by Rick Rubin and released to widespread critical acclaim. That will soon be followed by Return of the Dream Canteen - the thirteenth studio album coming in October that will mirror the spring project's 17 songs and include unreleased additional tracks from those sessions. Have the Red Hot Chili Peppers ever been hotter than they are in 2022? They certainly are living the dream at the moment.
